About these terms
These Terms of Use apply to your use of this website, operated by Ashwood Solar LTD, trading as Solent Sun, of 130 Havant Road, Hayling Island, PO11 0LJ. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Separate written terms apply to any installation or service you purchase from us. Those terms are set out in your written quote and contract, which take precedence over anything on this website.
Using this website
You agree to use the site lawfully and not to attempt to interfere with its operation, access data you are not entitled to, or use it in a way that could damage, disable or impair it. We may update or withdraw parts of the site at any time and do not guarantee it will always be available without interruption.
Information and accuracy
The content on this site is provided for general information. Figures such as prices, savings and generation estimates are typical ranges based on published data and our experience, and they are not promises or guarantees for any specific property. Always rely on the written quote and any survey report we prepare for your home, which reflect your actual circumstances.
Important: nothing on this website is a binding offer. A binding agreement for any installation is only formed when you accept our written quote and we confirm it in writing.
Enquiries and quotes
When you submit an enquiry or request a callback, we use your details to respond and, where appropriate, arrange a survey and prepare a quote. Quotes are valid for the period stated on them, or for a reasonable period if none is stated. Prices shown on the site are indicative and may change, but any price we confirm in a written quote is the price we will charge if you accept it.
Installations and contracts
The full terms of any installation, including the specification, timescales, warranties and any exclusions, are set out in your written quote and contract. We aim to complete work on the dates agreed, but installation dates can be affected by factors such as weather, access and the availability of equipment, and we will keep you informed if there is a material change.
Payment
Payment terms are set out in your written quote. Where a deposit is requested, this will be clearly stated before you commit. We do not take payment for work that has not been described and agreed in writing. Any applicable tax treatment, including the current VAT rate, is confirmed on your quote.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. For business and consumer use, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from your reliance on general information on this site rather than on a written quote prepared for you. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, supply shortages, industrial action or changes in law or regulation. Where such an event affects your installation, we will work with you to agree revised arrangements.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version published on the site at the time applies. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
